The Equity Research Division is the final bottom up component of our investment approach. Our members screen and analyze equities on a weekly basis based on financial indicators, build financial models, draft equity research reports and pitch stocks in a competitive manner at our monthly pitching sessions.
Equity Research for us the determination of the fundamental value of companies across various sectors. At the beginning of every semester we form sector coverage teams based on current industry trends who analyze and screen equities in these sectors and come up with investment ideas. Through this, our learn members learn how to quickly evaluate the attractiveness of equities based on key ratios, financial model analysis, industry trends, historic stock performance, and their business model. Seemingly undervalued equities will be pitched in front of our investment panel and included into our portfolio. We publish a short report of our equity selection every month.
Moreover, seemingly undervalued, interesting, but complex companies will be analyzed in greater detail throughout the semester, using appropriate financial Models (DCF, DDM, Multiple Valuation, S-O-T-P etc.), which results in a detailed research report. Through this approach we can ensure that our members are educated in gaining a comprehensive understanding of a variety of different business models and industries, building quick and complex financial models as well as how to structure and pitch investment ideas within a competitive manner.
